Short Story Long is my latest experiment! Here, my guests get unlimited time to unpack their obsessions, passions, and interests—absolutely no detail spared. Think of it as the anti-TikTok: we're going deep, not brief.
Ishan has been subject to a lot of my ideas and thus he makes for a great first guest. His episode on Critical Trials was about productivity and thus it is only fitting that he talks about his nerdy interest of note taking.
Note-taking is surprisingly not academic! He spoke about how you can write about anything and everything, for example, after shooting this episode I went and wrote about everything that went wrong while shooting this and how I really enjoy eating french fries. Note-taking is about the versatility of thoughts and thus it helps you to think better. Carry a tiny notebook with you and write about how the sun is beating down on you and how you are starring in your version of the Glucon D ad.
What I found interesting about this topic is how “Notes” in your phone was usually used as a great template as a joke about people writing poetry, rants or being sentimental but in actuality, that is some of the most interesting thoughts you might have had. When I checked out my notes on the Notes app, I had some musings that I could have only thought of at the moment of its occurrence.
“I hate changing rooms.”
I would not think about changing rooms until i was in one. After leaving it and purchasing the dress that took my hours to choose, I would probably forget the absolutely saddening experience of being in a changing room; that one tiny room can make you question everything about your physicality and mentality. How fun, right?
